Mrs. Marie Patricia Greis, 87 of Denver, NC passed away May 11, 2012 at the Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville. Mrs. Greis was born December 26, 1924 in Queens, NY daughter of the late Alfred and Anna Scharf Harrison. She graduated from Grover Cleveland High School in Queens.

Mrs. Greis was a homemaker and was a teacher aide during part of her life. She was of the Roman Catholic Faith, loved to garden, her birds, ceramics and loved to sew. She was a member of the University City Women’s Group in Charlotte.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband; Clayton R. Greis who passed away May 9, 2002, a son; Richard Peter Greis who passed away in 1983.

Survivors include one son, Robert Greis and wife Janis of Huntersville, two daughters, Patricia G. Summers and husband Jeffrey of Providence Forge, VA, and Pamela Greenwood and husband Duane of Denver, NC. She has two brothers, Dennis Harrison of Lake Ronkonkoma, NY, and Thomas Harrison of CA, there are two sisters, Deloris H. Driscoll of Sayville, NY and Marilyn H. Bleimiller of Chestertown, NY, and six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 1:30 PM Friday, May 18, 2012 at St. Mark Catholic Church in Huntersville.

The family will receive friends at the Church following the Memorial Mass.
