Mr. Dennis James Efird, 56, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Saturday, August 25, 2012, at CMC NorthEast Medical Center. Dennis was born on October 16, 1955 in Stanly County son of the late Alonzo and Julia Hatley Efird.
A 1974 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School, Dennis enjoyed hunting, fishing, four wheeling and camping with friends, and riding his Harley Davidson. He attended Mission Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Kamela Almond Efird whom he married on September 22, 1979; son, Daniel James Efird; daughter, Andrea Lee Efird; granddaughter, Anna-Mae Efird; brother, Roger Efird; and sister, Judy Allmon.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 1, 2012, at Mission Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Jeremy Hyde, pastor and Rev. Ronny Russell.
The family will receive friends at the church following the service and the residence at other times.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to defer expenses.
