Jennifer Lynn Watkins Zirt, 44, of Salisbury, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Rowan Regional Medical Center. She is once again in the loving arms of her mother, Nancy Bowen Watkins, and grandparents Agnes and Merle Bowen who preceded her in death.
Jennifer was born September 2, 1968, in Salisbury, NC. She was a graduate of North Rowan High School, Catawba College and Presbyterian School of Nursing.
She was employed as an RN by Carolina’s Health Care Systems at University Hospital in Charlotte.
She loved the outdoors, golfing, running and walking, was an avid volunteer with the Horse Protection Society in Rowan County, and was known by close friends as a dedicated supporter of numerous charities.
Mrs. Zirt is survived by her husband; David and her cherished pets. Surviving family also includes in-laws; Judy and Bob Zirt and Sarah L. Barnes, aunts; Linda Huson and husband Bill, Marsha Lyman and husband Ted, and cousins; Pam Huson Byers, Jeff Huson, and David Long.
A Memorial Service will be held at Christ United Methodist Church, 3401 Mooresville Road, Salisbury, NC on Sunday, October 21 at 5 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Zirt’s name to the Horse Protection Society of North Carolina, 2135 Miller Road, China Grove, NC 28023.
