Hilda Sue James Stevens, 72, of Landis passed away on Tuesday, March 19, at her home. Hilda was born on September 7, 1940 in Cabarrus County, a daughter of the late Thomas Larkin and Lula Carter James.
Hilda attended A.L. Brown High School, had worked for Cannon Mills in the sheet department, and at Britthaven Nursing Home in the housekeeping and maintenance department. She was a member of God’s Church of Faith in Kannapolis. Hilda enjoyed walking and going to the beach, she loved to work in her flower beds and was an avid reader.
Survivors: Hilda is survived by her husband, Claude Stevens. Children, Shania Diaz and husband Nick of Landis, Johnnie Kay Wetter and husband David of Mt. Pleasant, Audrey Krimminger of Raleigh, Bobby Krimminger of Landis, Lisa Bynum of Spencer, David Stevens of Bennettsville, and Kristy Stevens of Rockwell. Sisters, Barbara Davis of Kannapolis, and Phyllis Udeck and husband Mickey of Enochville. Brother, Johnny Richard James of Enochville. Hilda is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Service: There will be a Memorial Service on Friday, March 22, 2013 at 6:00 PM at God’s Church of Faith, 811 Elm Street, Kannapolis N.C. 28081, conducted by Rev. Jeff Upright, Pastor.
Visitation: The family will receive friends on Friday, March 22nd from 5:00 to 6:00 PM at God’s Church of Faith.
The family will reside at Mickey Udeck’s residence the remainder of the time.
