Albert Eugene Starnes, 78, of Gold Hill passed away on Saturday May 11, 2013 at his residence surrounded by family. Mr. Starnes was born on June 19, 1934 in Cabarrus County, North Carolina to the late Henry Albert Starnes and Celia Starnes.

Mr. Starnes was a Truck Driver most of his life and enjoyed working on cars, Nascar, and could fix anything. He loved to fish with his family and grilling out with his family and friends as often as he could.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Starnes is preceded in death by a brother, Billy Ray Starnes, and a sister, Juanita Boone.

Albert Eugene Starnes is survived by a son; Curtis Starnes and wife Julia of Enochville, daughters; Melody Barnette of China Grove and Carolyn of Kannapolis, grandchildren; Johnny W. Safford of Salisbury, Jonathon Barnette of Gold Hill, Brianna Barnette of China Grove, and Mason Starnes of Enochville, and a niece, Angie Carter.
