Jewel Gray Jones Troxler, 84, of Concord passed away on Friday, May 31, 2013, at her home surrounded by family. Mrs. Troxler was born on November 12, 1928 in Winston-Salem a daughter of the late James William and Quintora Maude Tillitson Jones.

Jewel was a graduate of Reynolds High School and had worked for Reynolds Tobacco and was a member of Christ Moravian Church where she was a soloist. After moving to Concord in 1949 she worked at Cannon Mills Office and became a homemaker and loving Mom with the arrival of children. Jewel was a member of Central United Methodist Church, a member of the Cancel Choir for 38 years. Jewel had a beautiful alto voice. She was also a dedicated member of the Estaline Clark Circle and the United Methodist Women.

She was an avid bowler with the Blue Monday Bowling League and enjoyed playing bridge, tennis, dancing and ceramic classes. Jewel was a loving Mother who went to all her children’s ballgames from 1960 t0 1982. She dearly loved spending time with her six grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded by her husband, Donald Melvin Troxler and sisters Barbara Ollis and Jackie Bailey.

Survivors include sons, Kent Melvin Troxler and wife, Patricia, of Conyers, GA; James Andrew Troxler of Concord and Matthew Gray Troxler and wife, Martha, of Mebane; daughter, Quintora Troxler Dionne and husband, Gerard, of Concord; grandchildren, J.R., Lauren, Anna, Sarah, Emma and Nathan.

Services: A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 8, 2013, at the Central United Methodist Church conducted by Rev Andy Langford, pastor. The family will receive friends after the service at the church.

A private burial will take place at Carolina Memorial Park.
