Opal Hott Burdette, 88, of Statesville, N.C. passed away on Wednesday June 5, 2013 at the Gordon Hospice House. Mrs. Burdette was born on September 10, 1924 in Virginia to the late George Washington Hott and Ada Mason Hott.
Mrs. Burdette worked as an apartment rental manager. She loved spending time with her family and loved being at home sitting in her glider rocker- watching the birds that she fed and admiring her marigolds and pansies. She also enjoyed reading her Bible; She loved her LORD and SAVIOR!!!!
In addtion to her parents, Mrs. Burdette is preceded in death by her husband, Buck Burdette, sisters, Elsie Locke and Margaret Painter, and a granddaughter, Teffi.
She is survived by her son, Robert Gochenour and wife Jacqueline of Statesville, NC, her daughter, Joyce Ring and husband Dick of Stony Point, NC, grandchildren, Jeff of VA, Andrea of NC, and Trisha of FL, a sister, Josephine, a brother, George Hott Jr. and his wife Pauline, as well as numerous nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
She is also survived by her dearest bestest oldest friend Alice Oates, who is 96 years old. They would sit for hours and talk about the people they knew growing up in Winchester, Va.
There are no services scheduled at this time.

I am so sorry for your loss. I know that Aunt Bobie is breathing easy now and not suffering for oxygen. She is strolling though God’s Garden with all the family around her. She must be so happy now~
It is hard for the ones left behind, I know. She and Mom (Elsie Locke) were so close. Bob & I loved her very much.
