Evelyn Louise Carson, 81, of Mt. Gilead, NC passed away on Friday November 22, 2013 at her residence surrounded by family. Evelyn was born on October 20, 1932 in Jarvisville, WV to the late Mr. and Mrs. Miles Dewey Westfall and Una Hinkle Westfall.

Ms. Carson loved watching football games and was an avid fan of the New England Patriots. She enjoyed being outdoors, going shopping, playing Yahtzee, Bingo, and any kind of card games with family and friends. Evelyn was a 13 year survivor of breast cancer and most of all, she loved spending with her family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Worthy Addison Carson Jr.; four brothers, John Westfall, James Westfall, Earl Westfall, and Miles Dewey Westfall Jr.; and five sisters, Mary McCartney, Martha Michaels, Norma Griffith, Laura Mullins, and Zelma Post.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Juanita Carson and fiance Reginald Reid of Mt. Gilead; a son, James Dewy Carson of Concord; sisters, Cathryn Davis of Pennsylvania, Shirley Northy of Monroe, NC, and Sue McCaskill and husband Billy of Mint Hill, NC; grandchildren, Nichole Carson, Yvonne Carson, April Carson, and Richard McCartney; and great-grandchildren, Sidnie Carson, Emelie Jaimes, and Christian Jaimes.
