Amos Eugene Rumple, 74 of Cleveland, NC passed away on January 17, 2014 at the VA Hospice House in Salisbury, NC. Mr. Rumple was born on August 5, 1939 in Rowan County to the late Wallace A. Rumple and Dallie Edwards Rumple. Mr. Rumple proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and the Army National Guard.
Amos was a member of the Rowan County Veterans Honor Guard and he was always the first one to arrive at every service. He enjoyed watching Wrestling and rodeos on television and loved spending time with his family every chance he got.
He is survived by his wife of 48 yrs, Shirley Bernhardt Rumple; two sons, Wallace Rumple of Salisbury, NC, and Rocky Lane of China Grove, NC; three daughters, Terri Fulcher and husband Ron of China Grove, NC, Shiela Jones of Salisbury, NC, and Christie Goodline and husband Todd of Carthage, NC; a brother, Butch Rumple of China Grove, NC; a sister, Annette Pressley and husband Roy of Tyro, NC; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service at the Salisbury National Cemetery held at a later date.
