Jeffery Franklin Gray, 49, of Salisbury NC passed into the arms of Jesus and out of his pain on February 26, 2014. Jeffery was born on May 14, 1964 in Cabarrus County to Janet Martin Lee and Larry Franklin Gray. He graduated from A.L. Brown High School, and worked for Jackson Plumbing in Charlotte until his disability in 2011.
Jeffery loved to sit on a riverbank and fish, he was an avid reader of non-fiction and read for hours at a time. He always made people laugh until he became disabled, then you’d have to try to make him laugh. Jeffery was a loving, meek, and so very kind son, brother, grandson and friend.
Jeffery is preceded in death by grandfathers, John Roger Martin, Sr., Eurl Oscar Gray, a grandmother, Nora Elizabeth Gray and brother-in-laws, John A. Seabolt and Huey Craig.
In addition to his parents, Jeffery is survived by his step-father, Tobey R. Lee; sister, Jennifer K. Gray; brother, Jamie M. Gray; nieces, Hollie, Kelly, Ashley and Laila and nephews, Andrew, Lemonte and Jessie. Grandmother, Frances M. Martin; aunts & uncles, Judy Keever and husband Wade, Myra Thompson and husband Mel, Joyce Hinson, John R. Martin, Jr. and wife Malavonh. Numerous cousins, five who were part of the group involved with the Civil Air Patrol Ground Search Team from Knoxville TN that were responsible for finding Jeff. Special friends, Bill, Jeff, Donald and Dennis.
There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Westpoint Baptist Church in Kannapolis conducted by Rev. Chris Shelton, Pastor. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 8th from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Westpoint Baptist Church 1100 Pine Street Kannapolis NC 28081 or to Mental Health Association of Central Carolina s PO Box 1294 Concord NC 28026.
