Carlos Miguel Diaz, 62, of Salisbury passed away on Friday, September 12, 2014 at his son’s home surrounded by his family. Carlos was born on December 20, 1951 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, a son of the late Miguel Diaz Borrero and Monserrate Colon Diaz.
Carlos was a graduate of Alfred E. Smith High School and of Wake Technical Community College. Carlos retired from the United States Army after 21 years of service. He also worked for United Rentals as a heavy equipment mechanic.
Carlos is survived by his wife of over 37 years, Jeanne Anita Nissen Diaz, who he married on March 13, 1977. Sons, Carlos Michael Diaz and wife Hollie of Salisbury, and David Stephen Diaz of Raleigh. Daughters, Bonnie Jeanne Diaz Bardwell and husband Josh of Raleigh, Rebecca Suzanne Romano and husband Mike of Martinez, CA, and Christina Michelle Diaz of Framingham, MA. Brothers, Braulio Diaz of Bronx, NY, Edwin Garcia of Ponce, Puerto Rico, and Ramon Miguel Diaz of Houston, TX. Sisters, Milagros Diaz Acosta of Bronx, NY, and Amelia Diaz of Allentown, PA. Grandchildren, Thomas Henry, Joseph Dylan, Andrew Miguel, Harrison Joshua, Malena Kares, Katherine-Brandon Bouvier, Meredith Alice-Clare, Caroline LaRue, and Charlotte Kay.
There will be a Memorial Service at a later date.
