Allen Fay Freiss, 54, of Salisbury, died peacefully in his sleep on Nov. 4, 2010, at his home with his family.

Allen was born Jan. 30, 1956, in Rowan County, a son of the late Donald F. Freiss and Ruth M. Agner Freiss. He was a 1975 graduate of East Rowan High School. He worked at Taylor Manufacturing for more than 20 years, where he was known as Lil’ Cigar, and had worked for Mike’s Drywall as long as his health allowed.

Allen was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church, enjoyed working on engines, welding, racing and helping others.

Survivors include a sister, Donna Freiss Franklin, and niece Kendra of South Carolina. Also left to cherish his memory are cousins, uncles, aunts and numerous friends.

Service: Memorial Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13 at Safe Harbor Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Rick Perry, pastor and friend. Inurnment will follow at St. Matthews Lutheran Church Cemetery at a later date.
