Mrs. Norma “Weenie” Holloway Cox, 61, of Salisbury, passed away Monday, October 27, 2014, at Novant Health-Rowan Medical Center. She was born January 4, 1953, in Rowan County to the late John and Jean Lee Holloway.
She was a graduate of West Rowan High School, worked at Linn Corriher Mill in Landis, and later worked as a cook.
She is survived by her husband, Mr. William Roy Cox, II; children, Michelle Leigh Nodine and husband, Heath, of China Grove, Brian Patrick Brown, Johnny Marvin Cross, Deborah Lynn Cross, all of Salisbury, Thomas Jason Cross and wife, Jennifer, of Olin; step-children, Tiffany Cox of China Grove and Heather Cox of Charlotte; grandchildren, Garrett Owens, Grayson Owens, Cayla Nodine, Kaleb Brown, Hailey Tippins, Christopher Vain, Natalie Cross, Abbie Carter, Lydia Carter, Noah Overcash, and Joshua Barringer.
There will be a memorial service held Saturday, November 1, at 11:00 AM at West Corinth Baptist Church, conducted by Pastor Robert Suttles.
The family will have a reception and celebration of life following the service in the fellowship hall at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Corinth Baptist Church, 120 Corinth Church Road, Mooresville, NC 28115 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
