Eugene Paul “Gene” Balthazor, 79, of Kannapolis passed away on Friday, February 13, 2015 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center. Gen4e was born on June 13, 1935 in New York City a son of the late Virginia Williamson Balthazor and Eugene A. Balthazor.

Mr. Balthazor was a graduate of St. James Catholic High School in Orlando, Florida. Gene was a Veteran having served in in the US Air Force as a medic for over 20 years. After retiring from the Air Force he worked with the Winter Park Police Department and as a medical assistant with the Florida State Department of Corrections.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by son, Frank Balthazor and two brothers, John H. Balthazor and Harold D. Balthazor.

Survivors include daughter, Sabrina Jean Balthazor of Winter Park Florida; and sister Marie Hawthorne of Kannapolis; and brother, James A. Balthazor of California.

A Graveside Service will be held at the Salisbury National Cemetery on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 2:00 PM conducted by Rev. Mike Herring. Military Honors will be provided by the Rowan County Veterans Honor Guard and the North Carolina National Guard.
