Adela R. Lien entered eternal rest, on April 2, 2015, at the age of 73, with loved ones at her side.
Adela was born June 21, 1941 in Mexico City, Mexico, to Jose and Angeles Ramirez.
She loved parties, the holidays, family BBQs, going to the theatre, listening to operas, doll collecting and a good glass of wine. But her greatest joy was spending time with her 18 grandchildren.
Adela worked for many years, as a cake decorator for Von’s grocery Stores in the San Diego area. She later worked as a gemologist and manager for Ben Bridge Jewelry Store, El Cajon, Ca until retirement.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Mr. Harold B. Lien.
Adela is survived by brothers Javier Ramirez and Joe Ramirez of CA and her sisters Grace Vanderhagen of CA and Jennifer Harrod of TX. She is also survived by her seven children, David Butchart of NC, Harold Butchart of CA, Clara Berkman of VA, Angela Clonts of NC, Alicia Sindelar and Patricia Buck of CA and Yvette Wright of NC, and 18 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
If life is measured in how much you were loved, Adela was truly blessed and will be forever in our hearts.
Adela’s life will be celebrated by her family on the east coast, before her final journey to California where she will be memorialized at a Funeral Mass at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church 3821 Adams Street, Carlsbad, CA on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at El Camino Memorial Park 5600 Carroll Canyon Rd San Diego, CA at 11:30 AM.

Pat Kobylus says
It is with much sadness as we learned about the death of this kind faith-filled woman. It was such an honor for us to take her to mass with us when her health allowed it. After so many years of suffering, may eternal rest grant unto Adela, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
