I knew cousin Amy (and most of my mother’s side of our family) almost entirely from when we were kids, but I have continued to think of her (and them) from time to time over the decades since. It has always been something of a mystery to me how people, once close, drift apart as lives and minds pursue independent paths, personally and geographically.
When loved ones leave us, I think not only about them, and loss, but also about those of us who remain and how important it is that we seize the day while we can. To Amy’s grieving family and friends, my wife Barbara Beitch (who never got to meet Amy) and I send condolences and wishes for fulfilling futures.

Amy taught my late husband Ron and me (historically Catholic and Presbyterian) to worship God with abandon and joy, waving flags and dancing. She had such happiness in the Lord which was quite contagious. I know she is in His loving arms now and forever.
