Linda Lee Owens, 72, of Salisbury, passed away on Thursday June 18, 2015 at the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury. Ms. Owens was born on July 11, 1942 in Iredell County to the late Fred Henry Barkley and Thelma Frye Barkley.

Linda was a 1960 graduate of Mooresville High School and worked as a seamstress in various mills throughout her career. She enjoyed writing and painting in her free time, and taking care of her cats. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Robert Scott Owens and wife Suzanne of Matthews, NC; two brothers, Johnny Barkley and wife Ann of Linwood, NC, and Fred Barkley Jr. of Rockwell, NC; a sister, Rebecca Peeler of Salisbury; and three grandchildren, Shelby Owens, Kaleigh Owens, and Lee Dabbs.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday June 23, 2015 at 7:00pm at Victory Baptist Church, (315 Gold Hill Drive, Salisbury, NC 28144).
