A beautiful light went out when Dorrie Stocking, aged 93, departed this life on August 15, 2015. Dorrie was born on October 28, 1921 in Custer, Michigan and was retired from General Motors in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

She then moved to Homestead, Florida and was a Red Cross volunteer for six years at Homestead Air Force Base. After Hurricane Andrew in 1992 she relocated to Dade City, Florida.

Dorrie was preceded in death by her son Dennis G. Van Dyke, and a granddaughter, Lori Coles.

Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Joan M. Van Dyke of Columbus, Georgia, and Chris Hodges (Mike) of Lexington, NC; and one remaining sister, Shirley O’Leary of Bridgewater, Massachusetts. Dorrie had three grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
