James Leonard Mullis Sr., 75, of Kannapolis, NC passed away on Sunday October 18, 2015 at The Oaks at Town Center Harrisburg. Mr. Mullis was born on January 28, 1940 in Cabarrus County, NC to the late Joe Cephus Mullis and Flossie Bentley Mullis.

James was a member of Cold Water Baptist Church in Concord and worked as a truck driver. He enjoyed watching old westerns and being with his family.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Anne Nance, and a grandson, Terry Haithcox.

He is survived by a son, James “Baldy” Mullis Jr. and wife Sheila of Mt. Pleasant; two daughters, Linda “Joe” Haithcox of Lexington, and Debbie Corriher and husband Alan of Mooresville; a brother, Ronald Lee Mullis and wife Dianne of Concord; five grandchildren, Samantha Nolan, Randy Mullis, Jason Haithcox, Kimberly Brasington, and Michael Corriher; and eight great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday October 24, 2015 at 2:00 PM, at Cold Water Baptist Church of Concord, conducted by Rev. Jim Posey and Rev. Randy Tucker.
