Percy Lee Quantz, 85, of Rockwell, passed away on Monday, Oct. 19, 2015, at Universal Health Care in Concord. Mr. Quantz was born on Jan. 25, 1930, in Rowan County to the late John Quantz and Bertha Quantz.
Percy was a member of Dayspring Community Church in China Grove and loved to read his Bible. He worked for Cannon Mills as a Loom Fixer for more than 30 years before retiring and running a trucking business with his son David Quantz. He also enjoyed farming and running his own saw mill.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elnora Quantz, who passed away in 2011.
Percy is survived by two sons, David Adam Quantz and wife Linda of Rockwell and James Quantz and wife Diane of Salisbury; two daughters, Margaret Cooler and husband Danny of Geogia and Deborah Cassidy of Granite Quarry; two brothers, Vernon Quantz and wife Eunice of Virginia and Norman Quantz of North Carolina; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, Oct. 22 at 6 p.m. at Dayspring Community Church (490 Lentz Road, China Grove, NC 28023).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dayspring Community Church (490 Lentz Road, China Grove, NC 28023).
