David Franklin Parker, 89, of Salisbury passed away on Friday August 12, 2011 at Rowan Regional Medical Center. Mr. Parker was born on March 26, 1922 in Chesterfield, S.C., son of the late Sam Franklin Parker and Minnie Hicks Parker. He was educated in the Chesterfield County School System, he and his wife Hester resided at the Trinity Oaks Retirement Community, were they attended Vespers at Trinity Oaks. David was a member and Past Master of Scotch Ireland Masonic Lodge # 154, and a member of Wayside Volunteer Fire Department in Statesville.
Survivors: David is survived by his wife of over 69 years Mrs. Hester Wallace Parker of the home. Brother, Thomas Hoover Parker of Columbia, S.C., and a number of nieces and nephews.
Service: There will be Memorial Service held on Friday August 19th at 2:00 PM in the Chapel at Trinity Oaks Retirement Community, officiated by the Rev. Gene Bruce.
Graveside Service: There will be a graveside service at the Salisbury National Cemetery on Friday August 19th at 11:00 AM, also conducted by the Rev. Gene Bruce.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Virginia Casey Memory Unit 820 Klumac Road Salisbury NC 28144, or to the American Children’s Home.
