Tina Sue Grant Wilcox, 59, passed away December 13th, 2015 at her home in Concord, NC after a hard fought 2 year battle with brain cancer.
Tina was born in Chicago, IL on December 30th, 1955 and grew up, as young child, in Rockford, IL and later, as a teen, in Scottsdale, AZ where she attended Saguaro High School. She married her husband Larry on July 9th, 1974. Tina was known for always putting others before her own self and was very active in foster care in the 1980’s including being a Master Foster Parent volunteer for DCFS in Bloomington, IL. During that era, she also initiated the “Adopt A Family” program that is now recognized nation-wide at Christmas time. In more recent years, she had a successful career as a Realtor in Illinois and in Arizona. She enjoyed traveling to new places and was always looking forward to a new adventure. She lived in 5 different states from coast to coast during her 41 year marriage to Larry and cherished the memories of all those places she once called home. Her children were always her main priority and she loved spending time with family and close friends. The St. Jude Children’s research hospital was also an organization very near to her heart as their oldest son, Ryan, was a St. Jude patient and also lost his battle with brain cancer at age 4.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Arlyne Grant; her son, Ryan; and several very beloved members of her extended family, during her marriage, that included two sister in-laws, four brother in-laws, two nieces and one nephew.
She is survived by her husband, Larry; daughters, Sjouki Deleonardis and Laura Wilcox; sons, Chad and Joseph Wilcox; grandchildren, Austin, Sean, Brody, Justin, Brielle, Aiden and Quentin Wilcox, Jordan Raffety and McKenzie Deleonardis; sister, Lisa (Bill) Hanawalt; and so many loved ones in her extended family of sister/brother in-laws, nieces, nephews and grandnieces/nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) in memory of Tina.
Carolina Cremation is assisting the Wilcox family. Online codolences may be made at www.carolinacremation.com.

Sorry for your loss, Larry. I am not over my loss of Glen on Feb. 5, 2012. It does get a little easier but you never forget the memories.

Dear Wilcox family,
I am sorry for your pain, and loss.
You can find real comfort in what God has promised, such as in John 5:28,29 -He promises that he is going to resurrect all those who have ever died, back to life again here on earth. And all the things that cause us sorrow, pain, and even death, will be gone forever. You can read about this in Revelation 21:3,4, and 1 Corinthians 15:26.
