Betty Jean Lewis, 59, of Salisbury, passed away on Saturday January 2, 2016 due to declining health at her home. She was born on May 03, 1956 in Rowan County to the late Robert James Shehan and Linnie Leazer Shehan.
Betty was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed knitting, cleaning, embroidery, dancing, Oldie Goldie music, talking to family & friends and taking care of her dog patches. She was a great cook and loved to cook for her family and friends. According to her family she made the best yams and biscuits in the world. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and she loved her dog Patches.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Suzy A. Shehan, brothers, Jerry Dale Shehan, and Billy Ray Shehan.
Betty is survived by two sons, James Franklin Ward and significant other Pamela Abernathy of Salisbury, and Eric Hughgene Ward and wife Suzanna of Salisbury; two brothers, Robert Shehan and wife Gloria of Salisbury, and Chuck Shehan and wife Wanda of Woodleaf; two sisters, Sandy Mills of Salisbury, and Debbie Hepler of Mocksville; three grandchildren, Samantha Ward, Jordan Ward, and Maximos Ward; and her favorite dog, Patches.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday January 9, 2016 at Graceful Heart Church in Salisbury, for time and additional information contact family.
