Vicky Sue Benton, 67, of Concord, passed away on Tuesday January 19, 2016 at her residence surrounded by family. She was born on March 24, 1948 in Cabarrus County, NC to the late Fred Scott and Mabel Goodman Scott.

Vicky worked worked with her sister-in-law in the florist business and enjoyed working with the flowers and plants. She was of the Christian faith and was an excellent cook and baker and was known for her pound cakes, which she used to sell. Vicky loved to spend time with her family and she was always helping others.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Bud Scott.

She is survived by her husband of 33 years, David Franklin Benton of Concord; a son, Randy Scott of Concord; three brothers, Alan Scott and wife Cathy of Gold Hill, Wayne Scott of Oklahoma, and Danny Scott and wife Cathy of Rockwell; three sisters, Karen Carpenter of Salisbury, Jeanette Reeves and husband Keith of Gold Hill, and Millette Scott Hardin of Concord; two grandchildren, Ryan Eugene Scott and wife Casey of Concord, and Blake Anthony Scott of the home; and two great grandchildren, Landon Scott and Lilli Scott.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
