Jean Padgitt passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at The Haven in Highland Creek. She was born August 22, 1927 in Sycamore, IL to Sherman E. Wickwire and Lucille Oldham Wickwire.
Jean previously lived in Parkersburg, WV and Cocoa Beach, FL. She was a graduate of Byron High School (Byron, IL) and Northern Illinois University. On August 11, 1951 she married Charles Arthur Padgitt (deceased). Though Jean obtained a bachelor’s degree in Home Economics, she was a homemaker and “social secretary” for her world traveling husband. Chuck and Jean visited every continent and most individual countries at least once, her favorites being Russia and China.
Jean is survived by her son James C. Padgitt (Joanne) of Buffalo Grove, IL and daughter Janice C. Le Maire (David) of Charlotte, NC; four grandchildren, Jennifer Laquerre (Robert) of Concord, NC Nathaniel Le Maire (fiancee Stephanie Carnation) of Fletcher, NC, Christopher Le Maire of Charlotte, NC and Katheryn Vasquez (Anthony) of Wauconda, IL; three great-grandchildren Davin, Beckett, and Emerie Laquerre of Concord, NC; daughter-in-law, Stacey Padgitt; five nieces and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles, son Steven Padgitt, brother Robert Wickwire and parents Sherman and Lucille Wickwire.
A special thank you to the caring staff of The Haven and the first responders of Medic and the Charlotte Fire Department. Also thank you to Carolina Cremation for all the arrangements.
A memorial service will be held at a later date for Jean and Chuck Padgitt at First Lutheran Church, Parkersburg, WV.

So Sorry about your mother we had noticed that chuck had passed away but I hope this is a mistake about steve steve and I were best of buds back in the day. can you tell me what happened to steve last I knew he married and in lived in texas

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. I bowled with Jean for several years, she was a giving person. Jack worked with Chuck.
