James Franklin Cloer Jr, 63, of Salisbury passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2016. He was born on March 22, 1953 to the late James and Ruth Closer.
He graduated from Salisbury high School, hunting and fishing was his way of life. He was a people person who would talk forever about all his life adventures, especially if it had anything to do with hunting or fishing. James (Jimmy/ Bubba) would do anything for anyone, would put himself before others and had a heart of gold. Bubba loved to tell jokes and stories about his past. He also treasured seeing the laughter on people’s faces when they heard the stories, whether they were true or not he always made them seem real. He was the sweetest man anyone could ever have the experience of knowing. Now in heaven, he will be HUNTING, FISHING and LOVING EVERYDAY!
Survivors are his son, James Franklin Cloer Jr.; two sisters, Debbie Broadway and Husband Darrell Broadway, and Teresa Cutshaw and husband Ronnie Cutshaw; as well as three nieces, two great nieces, and three great nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday August 22, 2016 at 4:00pm at Destiny City Church (2324 S. Main St., Salisbury, NC 28147) conducted Pastor Don Vess.
Carolina Cremation of Salisbury is serving the Cloer family. Online condolences may be made at www.carolinacremation.com.

Jimmy and i were very close in H.S. hunting and fishing as much as we could. We had a great time telling stories and and being crazy do cool things. I have thought about him from time to time after leaving Salisbury Traveling all over the US. when i was younger. I sure everyone there will miss him. Be in peace my old friend..

Condolences from a distant relative. My Great Aunt was Annie Cloer. She was one of two sisters to my Grandfather, Joshua Frank Cooper. Joyce Cooper Price & Jeni Cooper Brown (daughters of Nora Lee Cooper, who still lives in Salisbury) shared with me about Jimmy’s passing. Though I did not know Jimmy, he is kindred through our joint heritage. My Prayers are extended to his family as they grieve their loss.
