Carolyn Branham Davis “Nanny”, of Salisbury, 71, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, December 4, 2016. Carolyn was born May 2, 1945 in Sumter County, SC to the late Hazel Robert Branham and Dorothy Rogers Branham.

She loved God and her family with all her heart. Carolyn was passionate about her family and serving others. “There was magic in Nanny’s touch, and sunshine in her smile. There was love in everything she did to make our lives worthwhile. We found both hope and courage, just by looking in her eyes. Her laughter was a source of joy, her words warm and wise. There was a kindness and compassion found in her embrace. And shining down from Heaven above, we see the glow of Nanny’s face”

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Davis Sr., and a son, Ralph Samuel Avins.

Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Carol Chavis; a son, George Avins (Trish); grandchildren, Arthur Watkins III (Jennifer) and their children Callista and Chloe, Joseph Chavis (Kimber) and their children Silas and Jaxon, Ryan Avins, Kayla Davis, Kaycee Avins and her child Aubree, Brandon Chavis, Brian Chavis and his child Aiden, Tylor Avins; and a large extended family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
