Brenda Elizabeth English, 68, of Denton, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Alston Brook Nursing Home in Lexington. She was born on January 5, 1948 in Newton, NC to Mildred (Watkins) Bivens and the late Cecil Bivens.
Brenda was of the Baptist faith and worked many different jobs during her lifetime but her favorite one was being a Caretaker for her family. She loved to play Candy Crush and take trips to the mountains and beach. Brenda was always taking care of others, especially her grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
In addition to her father, Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bing “Cub Man” English, and a brother, Donald Bivens.
Brenda is survived by her children, Rhonda (Greg) Beck of Lexington, and, Robbie (Dawn) English of Denton; two sisters, Patricia (Jimmy) Hulin, and Loretta “Daphne” (Gerald) Johnson; three grandchildren, Kristin English of Denton, Kasey Beck of Lexington, and Cameron Beck (Amanda) of Lexington.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 7:00 PM at Higher Ground Baptist Church (1351 Lamb Rd., Lexington, NC 27295). The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 6:50 PM at the church prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to True Light Baptist Church (1840 US 64 West, Lexington, NC 27295) for their building fund.
