Randy Lynn Childress, 62, of Kannapolis, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at his home.

Randy was born on April 11, 1954 in Rowan County to the late Ray Gene Childress and Jennie Safrit Childress Combs Simpson. He worked for over 30 years at Cannon Mills, Plant 1, in Kannapolis.

Randy enjoyed watching wrestling and was a big NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed fishing before becoming disabled.

Randy is survived by three brothers, Barry (Donna) Childress, Danny (Robin) Childress, and Dean (Catherine) Combs; and one uncle, Gary (Brenda) Safrit.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
