Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute.
Joanne Harrison Eichelberger, our loving wife, mother and grandmother has left this wordly life to join the Lord on February 5, 2017.
Daughter of the late Charles R. and Lucille D. Harrison, she was born in North Irwin, Pennsylvania, and was a graduate of Irwin High School. Joanne became the office manager of Hamilton Buick in Irwin, and then transitioned to work with the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue. She joined her husband Jack to embark on a new chapter in their lives, settling in Salisbury North Carolina over thirty years ago. Joanne found an additional home enjoying her career at Power Curbers until her retirement. As a devoted member of First Presbyterian Church in Salisbury, she was honored with a Lifetime Membership of the Presbyterian Women. Joanne was a wonderful cook and always made sure that no one ever went hungry. She and Jack hosted numerous receptions at home, work and church. And for the past eleven years, they secretly played Secret Santa to elementary school children to assure a wonderful Christmas.
Left to cherish her memory are Jack, with whom she shared a marriage for 63 years, sons Bill Eichelberger of Lexington, NC and Rob Eichelberger and wife Kathy, along with grandchildren Anna and Andrew of Creve Coeur, MO. Also surviving are her brother Bill Harrison and wife Janice of Irwin, and many nieces and nephews. Her extended immediate family also includes the Barakat family of Raleigh, NC.
We would like to thank Hospice, neighbors and friends for the outpouring of love and thoughtfulness during Joanneās last days.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you direct memorial contributions to the First Presbyterian Church. May her light and spirit shine on forever.
At her request, interment was private. A Celebration of her Life will be held on Saturday, April 8th at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church in Salisbury.
Carolina Cremation is assisting the Eichelberger family. Online condolences may be made at www.carolinacremation.com.

Please accept my sympathy in your loss. I worked with Joanne years ago at Power Curbers. She gave me her recipe for 7-Layer Salad and I still use it today. I know she’ll be missed. God bless.

My condolences. I remember in the 1960’s meeting Joanne and family for the very first time on a Christmas Eve in Irwin, Pa. and I felt so welcomed and at home.
She will be missed!
