John Adam Hamilton, Jr., 72 of Salisbury, peacefully passed away on February 17, 2017 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.

John was born on February 9, 1945 to the late John Adam Hamilton Sr. and Gertrude Westmoreland Hamilton in Davidson County. He worked most of his life as a mechanic and in his later years worked in landscaping for the City of Salisbury. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing at the beach and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sister, Peggy Everhardt.

He is survived by 2 sons, Adam Smith Sr. of Salisbury and Clay Hamilton of Charlotte; sister, Rebecca Conner and husband Danny of Lexington; 3 grandchildren, Brittany Smith, Savannah Smith, and Thomas Smith Jr., all of Charlotte. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
