JoAnn Irene Criss, 91, peacefully passed away on March 15, 2017 at her residence in China Grove.

JoAnn was born to the late Walton Edward Mellott and Anna Florente Koenig on October 5, 1925 in St. Joseph, Indiana. She helped with the Salvation Army in Brooksville, FL and in her spare time she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death her daughter, Marion Cohen; 2 grandchildren, Richard Criss Jr. and Jack Criss; and sister, Pauline Reece.

JoAnn is survived by sons, Richard Criss of China Grove, NC; William Criss of Gainesville, FL; and Dennis Pain of Indiana. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

There will be a memorial service held in Florida at a later date.
