Ruth McKernon Gaynor, ended her Journey on Earth, on April 11th at the age of 81. She was the beloved family member of son Kevin and his wife Meiyan, daughter Kathy and her husband Peter, and daughter Norah. She was Grandmother to Marissa, Jessica, Patrick, Kevin and Ian, and Great Grandmother of Roman. Extended family members of Darlin’ Posie, The Hess’s, and Randy. She has touched the lives of all her family, and her many friends, with her openness and Love of Life. She loved us all very dearly.

Ruth passed away peacefully at the Glen A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury NC. She received such wonderful loving care by all her hospice family, who have supported us to provide Ruth with the care she needed as she progressed with the end stages of dementia, for nearly two years. For all their laughs, dedication and support, her family is so graciously thankful.

Ruth was a very talented Artist and Art teacher at Brentwood High School in LI, NY. A Pioneering Woman who restored Historical homes, developed and headed the Creative Consciousness Center in NY, ventured to Oregon to begin an organic farm, swam with dolphins and hugged trees; just a few of the many unique things she enjoyed during her life.

Ruth had a beautiful colorful soul, kind loving and caring to all who entered her life. She leaves us with those memories, as her gift to her family and friends. We celebrate her life as she begins her new heavenly journey, and as our newest Guardian Angel.

A Celebration of her life will be held for family and friends.
