On Monday, June 12, 2017 at the Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington, NC, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend to many, Megan (Mickey) Edwards Edwardh , 93, of Thomasville, NC, passed peacefully from this life on to her eternal home in heaven to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and to joyfully reunite with loved ones who have gone before her.
Megan was born on December 5, 1923 in Treharris, Wales, to the late Lewis and Louisa Edwards. At the age of 3, the family emigrated to Winnipeg, Canada, and in 1949, she married Earl Royce Edwardh of Warren, MN, where they settled and raised their family and owned and operated a boarding house and, for a short time, the Main Street Café. In 1975, the family relocated to Cambridge, MN, where Megan worked as a Human Services Technician at Cambridge State Hospital. There, she showered love on and became very attached to many a resident until the time she retired. Megan loved Jesus and served Him well by unselfishly serving others. She adored and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, catching up by phone with family in Canada, helping neighbors who fast became friends, doting on her many pets over the years — most recently her faithful and beloved feline companion of 22 years, Misty, who passed earlier this year, watching football games and golf tournaments, playing bingo, listening to and singing along with music, especially her favorite country singer Randy Travis, doing crossword puzzles, and rarely missing watching her favorite TV game shows.
Those left to cherish and honor her memory include her children, daughter Daune Biggins of Cambridge, MN; son-in-law Stoney Biggins of Isanti, MN; daughter-in-law Sue Edwardh of Cambridge, MN, son Lance Edwardh of Thomasville, NC; daughter-in-law Cathy Edwardh of Moundsview, MN, and daughter and son-in-law Judy and Mark Black of Thomasville, NC; grandchildren Jeff and Lori Edwardh and their children Shiloh, Jenoah and Ayden of Blaine, MN; Steve Avre and Dawn Hitchings and their children Dylan, Tanner and Josh of Coon Rapids, MN; Ashley Biggins of Mora, MN and Austin and Carrie Biggins of Isanti, MN; Jason Jones of Minneapolis, MN; Sheila and Brian Warnke and their daughter Maisy of Moundsview, MN; Michael and Samantha O’Dell of Chisago City, MN, who are soon expecting their first child; Kevin and Julie O’Dell and their children Nixon and Declan of Wyoming, MN; Billy O’Dell and Chelsea Greene of Burnsville, MN and daughter Chloe; and Tasha Edwardh and her fur baby Teddy of Fishers, IN, along with numerous nephews and nieces whom she also adored.
In addition to her parents Lewis and Louisa Edwards and siblings Reginald, Stanley, Lillian Nairne, Jean Pacey and Doreen MacDonald, Megan was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Earl Royce Edwardh; son Barry Edwardh, and grandson Joshua Avre.
A celebration of Megan’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at the Bridgewood Community Church, 11670 Lexington Avenue, NE, Blaine, Minnesota. A visitation with a light lunch will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), the Hinkle Hospice House of Lexington, NC., or to a charity of your choice.
Carolina Cremation is assisting the Edwardh family. Online condolences may be made at www.carolinacremation.com.
