Bonnie Dawn Walker MacConkey, peacefully passed away on July 4, 2017 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis, NC.
She was born on June 26, 1959, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Bonnie married Darryl MacConkey on December 8, 2005, and he preceded her in death on Jan 8, 2015.
Mrs. MacConkey worked as a Benefit Verification Specialist for AmerisourceBergen. She moved to Charlotte, NC from Birmingham, Alabama.
In addition to her husband, she is also preceded in death by her son, Jeremy M. Phillips; mother, Jeneal Franklin and father, Donald T. Walker.
Mrs. MacConkey is survived by step-mother, Ruth Walker of Blountsville, AL; step-son, Keith MacConkey and wife, Sarah of Birmingham, AL; brother, Joe Phillips and wife, Susan of Mount Pleasant, SC; sister, Mary Alice Bagwell and husband, Josh of Blountsville, AL. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mrs. MacConkey.
There will be a memorial service held at 11am on Saturday, July 8th at Oak Hill Cemetery in Oneconta, Alabama with Rev. Dan Sims officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice Organization of your choice.
The family would like to extend special thank you to the staff of Tucker Hospice House for their excellent care and continued support.
