Francis Gilbert Smith , 87, of Salisbury, passed away Monday, July 17, 2017 at his residence. Mr. Smith was known as F. G. or Smitty by his family and friends.
He was born December 5, 1929 in Pittsfield, NH to George Hall and Flossie Day Hunt. Mr. Smith had worked for Johnson Concrete at their Stalite Plant and at Piedmont Block Company as Superintendent and later in sales.

Mr. Smith was a Veteran having served in the US Navy during the Korean War and a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church.

Francis is survived by his wife Delcie Earnhardt Smith: Two Daughters, Susan S. Cruz of Salisbury, NC, Katharyn Smith Robertson of Salisbury, NC; Son, Paul Andrew Smith of PA; Four Grandchildren, Scot W. Brady, Stephen L. Brady, Matthew Smith and Garrett Smith and Four Great Grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday August 4, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Salisbury National Cemetery, Military Honors will be provided by the Rowan County Veterans Honor Guard.
