Mr. Douglas Roy Campbell , passed away on July 30, 2017, at his residence surrounded by family following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Campbell was born on August 22, 1958 in Cook County, IL to the late William Campbell and Bobbie Treece Campbell.

Douglas was a dedicated and loving father, brother, and grandfather. He enjoyed fishing, target shooting and telling jokes. There was no one who could tell a story and have you rolling with laughter like him. He was dedicated to his pets and was an avid fisherman, outdoor enthusiast and all around comedian.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a niece, Shari Rich.

He is survived by his daughters, Sara Campbell and Sonya Campbell both of Lexington; a son, Aaron Campbell of California; sisters, Deborah Rich and Shari Smith both of Florida; his former wife, best friend of 45 years, and love of his life, Lisa Campbell; a grandson, Mason Campbell; and nephews, Rodney Rich and Jared Smith.

There will be a memorial service on Monday, August 21, 2017 at 2 pm at the Hospice of Davidson County Chapel, (200 Hospice Way Lexington NC 27292) with Chaplain David Kolb.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County (202 Hospice Way Lexington NC 27292).
