Willie Leroy Williams, 69, of Rockwell peacefully passed away on Monday, August 14, 2017 at his home after a long struggle with cancer. Willie was born on August 27, 1947 in Windsor, NC to the late Willie Edward Bobby Williams and Ella Mae Todd Williams of Elizabeth City, NC.

Willie worked for Coca-Cola before becoming a long distance truck driver.

Willie leaves behind his wife of over 26 years, Grace Elaine George Williams, whom he married on October 13, 1990. Children, Crystal Williams Roth and husband Matt of Knoxville, TN, Marie Williams Grey of Mascot, TN, Wayne Womack of Concord, Ryan Womack and wife Christie of Monroe, and Tracy Womack of Concord; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; siblings, Robert Edward Williams of Kannapolis, Jimmy Williams and wife Tammy of Elizabeth City, Janice Hurdle of Elizabeth City, and Teresa Ballance and husband David of Camden.

The family will be holding a Celebration of Life on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 1 pm at Willie & Grace’s home (2615 Lowerstone Church Road Rockwell NC 28138).

In lieu of flowers please donate to Willie’s wife Grace to help with medical bills.

The family would like to thank the staff at Carolinas Medical Center Northeast for the care and treatment while Willie was there, the pharmacy and staff of the Walmart in the Northlite Center of Kannapolis for their attention and care of the family, the staff at Food Lion in Rockwell, and lastly to the staff of Hilbish Ford in Kannapolis who Willie regularly visited not just for his car but for their friendship.
