Arnold David Shinn, 78, of Salisbury, passed away on Saturday October 28, 2017 at his residence. He was born on August 19, 1939 Cabarrus County to the late Joseph Shinn and Delsie Blackwelder Shinn. Mr. Shinn proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as a Munitions Specialist.
Arnold was a member of the The Brook Church of China Grove and worked as a Conductor for Southern Railway until his retirement. He enjoyed traveling and camping with his family, especially to Linville Falls in the North Carolina Mountains.
He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Shinn Taylor and husband Todd of Salisbury; a son, David Shinn and wife Cathy of Salisbury; a brother, Troy Kenneth Shinn and wife Wanda of Conover; a sister, Glenna Shinn Wolfe of Concord; two grandchildren, Alex Taylor, and Hannah Shinn; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday November 1, 2017 at 7:00 PM at The Brook Church (2290 Hwy. 29 S, China Grove, NC 28023) conducted by Pastor, Jon Harless. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to, The Brook Church.
