Theola “Toppie” Heilig Robinson, of Spencer, departed this life on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Autumn Care in Salisbury.
She was born on August 30, 1932 to John and Maggie House Heilig in Salisbury, NC. She graduated from Price High School and worked as a Lab Technician for Celanese.
Toppie was a member of New Hope AME Zion Church for over 50 years, where she was active in Sunday School, Bible Study, she was a life member of Christian Education where she made announcements. Toppie enjoyed sewing, she was an active member of Rufty Holmes Senior Center.
Theola is survived by sons, Reginald Heilig and wife Janet of Salisbury, NC, Gary Phillips and wife Earnestine of Rural Hall, NC; daughters, Adriane Fox and husband Ricky of Garner, NC, Andrea Russell and husband David of Greensboro, NC; Toppie is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins whom she treated as her own. Toppie had many loving and devoted friends who she maintained relationships with throughout her life.
In addition to her parents, Toppie was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sister.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 5, 2016, 11:30 am – 12:00 pm at New Hope AME Zion Church.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016, 12:00 pm at the New Hope AME Zion Church in Spencer with Rev. Dr. Debra J. Hall, officiating.
Memorials may be made to New Hope AME Zion Church Capital Campaign 1470 N. Long Street Spencer NC 28144..

I am so saddened by the loss of Toppie. She was a treasure to everyone. I will miss her. My prayers and thoughts are with all of you, Reg, Gary, Andrea and Adriane. Please be comforted knowing that Toppie loved, believed and knew our Lord Jesus Christ and is now resting safe and happy in His precious arms.
