Larry Edward Roberts, 78 of Salisbury, died Sunday Nov. 4, 2018 at Presbyterian Hospital. Born May 21, 1940, in Rowan County, Mr. Roberts was the son of the late Harvey Edward and Virginia Cauble Roberts. He graduated from Granite Quarry High School. He was a veteran in the army, serving in the Korean War.
Mr. Roberts worked in construction and also was a truck driver. He was a car enthusiast especially of antique hot rods and loved his 1948 Ford Anglia Hot Rod. He also loved dancing and he was always wanting to help others. Mr. Roberts attended Calvary Baptist Tabernacle in Salisbury.
Survivors include children, Cynthia Winkler of Kingwood, Texas and Shawn Roberts of Southport, NC; grandchildren Kyle Winkler and Lauren Winkler of Kingwood, Texas and Damian Roberts of Southport, NC, and cousins.
A Military Graveside Service will be held on Friday December 7, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Salisbury National Cemetery (501 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury, NC 28144). Military Honors will be provided by the Rowan County Veterans Honor Guard.
