Barbara Louise Christenson passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 2, 2019. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Barbara was a resident of Concord, North Carolina for the last several years.
She is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, Eric Christenson; her two daughters, Gretchen Macfee and her husband Scott of Concord, North Carolina, and Debbie Forster and her husband Fred of Ridgefield, Connecticut; her beloved grandchildren, Caroline. Ella and Brady Macfee, and Audrey and Andrew Forster. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Irma Abel.
The family expresses sincere appreciation and gratitude to the staff of Hospice and Palliative Care of the Charlotte Region for their care and compassion.
Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Barbara’s memory to the Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue, Inc. 60 Vera Cruz Road, Reinholds, PA 17569, www.dvgrr.org, from which Barbara adopted her Labradoodle and constant companion, Jackson.
