Lawrence Joseph Harmon, 86, of Cleveland, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at W. G. Bill Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury, NC.
He was born May 21, 1933 in Ashland, WV to late John Harmon and Annie Walker Harmon. Lawrence owned his own logging company and in his spare time he enjoyed watching car races and sports. He was of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to his parents, Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Coughenour Harmon; siblings, Evelyn Bishop, Donald Harmon, Darrell Harmon, Roy Harmon, Larry Harmon, John Harmon, Peggy Agee, Mary Speer, Helen Harmon, and Charles Harmon.
Lawrence is survived by sisters, Julie Logan of Granite Quarry, and Betty Gardner of Salisbury; 2 step-sons; 4 step-grandchildren; and best buddy, Jay Marlowe.
The Military Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday July 9, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Salisbury National Cemetery (501 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury, NC) with Pastor David Bishop officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the North Carolina National Guard and the Rowan County Veterans Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Liberty Lane Hospice House, (704) 638-9000, ext. 13409.
