L.B. Oxendine, 81, of Gastonia, passed away on August 16, 2019 at Caromont Regional Medical Center.

He was born July 21, 1938 in Robeson County, NC to the late Donald Oxendine and Lillie Hunt Oxendine. LB retired as a mechanic, and in his spare time enjoyed gardening and watching Nascar.

In addition to his parents, LB was preceded in death by his ex-wife, Polly; sons, Ronald and Earl; daughter, Faye Johnson; brothers, Ray, RD, and Jerry; sisters, Shirley, Maybell, Vestie, Brenda, and Louis.

LB is survived by his long time friend, Lynn Mcananich; sons, Jimmy Oxendine of Baden; Michael Oxendine of Concord; Rickey Oxendine of Concord; Kent Oxendine of Asheville; Robert Oxendine of Gastonia; daughter, Deborah Brewington (Clint) of Concord; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brothers, Bruce Oxendine of Lumberton; Linwood Oxendine of Lumberton; Carl Lee Oxendine of Charlotte; sister, Linda Helms of Monroe; and aunt, Clara May Oxendine of Lumberton.

There will be a private memorial service held at a later date.
