Josie Mary Wright, 93, of Charlotte, NC, transitioned from this life to the next on Saturday, September 21, 2019. She was born on October 30, 1925 in Valdosta, GA to the late John and Mary Davis Wright.
At a young age, Josie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized very early in life. During her Christian life, God gave her the Spiritual gift of interpretation. She could interpret any message her husband preached into a song. She was a very gifted singer and piano player. She was a member of various churches over the years and after moving to Charlotte 2 years ago, she became a member of Flowers Ministries, Inc.
Although she was one of the best cooks in the restaurant where she worked, she refused to just be a cook or a maid. In the 1950’s, during segregation, Josie traveled to Atlanta, Ga to attend beauty School and soon owned and operated her on Beauty Salon for over 20 years in Macon, Ga, before moving to Brooklyn, NY and lived there an additional 20 years before moving to Durham, NC and then back to Macon.
She was kind, generous, feisty, strong-willed and spoke her mind. She had an incredible love for her family and loved to spend time with them whenever she could. Her life was filled with the Joy of the Lord. She was always singing and cooking for her friends and family. There was always a freshly baked cake on the table. In addition to styling hair, traveling, singing, cooking and playing the piano, she enjoyed sewing, and teaching all those who would listen how to do the same. Because of her, many family members and friends became entrepreneurs themselves. Josie was the true definition of an inspiring Entrepreneur. In her advanced years, she still enjoyed singing and eating out, watching her favorite tv shows and enjoying her grands and great grandkids.
In addition to her parents, Josie was preceded in death by all 6 of her brothers and Sisters, John Wright, Jr., Celeste Wright, CW Wright, Beatrice Wright, Willie Wright and her twin, Joseph Wright, 2 former husbands, Emmett Rozier and Elder Moses Mosley, Sr., 2 children Clifford Rozier, Sr and Minnie Mosley-Slaughter, and 1 grandson, Clifford Rozier, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories, 2 daughters Mozella Mosley-Fuller of Raleigh, NC and Josie Mosley-Johnson of Macon, GA, 2 sons, Moses Mosley, Jr., of Brooklyn, NY and Brian Wright, of Fayetteville, NC., and a very special niece Velma Mosley; 14 grandchildren, an abundance of great- grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
