Deryll Anthony Walters, born on August 9, 1940 to Benjamin Franklin Walters, Jr. & Carrie Campbell Walters of McBee, SC went into to the arms of the Lord on Thursday, March 26.
Deryll was an Air Force as an A2C serving in Strategic Command. He held the title of Air Force Ping Pong Champion during his service years. In high school he participated in baseball, football and basketball. His lifelong work and subsequent retirement was with Bellsouth and had spent several semi-retired years as a driver for Adesa Auto Auction where he met his wife, Mary.
He attended Weddington United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Agape Sunday School class. He served many years storing up and sharing food with the Harvest Food Bank. He loved NASCAR and was a big fan of Bill Elliott and Kasey Kahne. He cheered for the Clemson Tigers and the Carolina Panthers. Deryll and Mary traveled to 48 states and have seen nearly every national park in the continental United States.
Deryll is survived by his loving wife, Mary; his daughter, Lisa Walters; step-daughter, Jennifer Morris (Malcolm); Doug Dunham (Jan); 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by 7 brothers and sisters.
Deryll was dearly loved and will be sorely missed.
