Johnny “June” Virgil Everhart Jr., 80, of Lexington, passed away on Friday August 7, 2020 at his home surrounded by family. Johnny was born August 29 1939 to the late Johnny Sr. and Thelma Fritts Everhart in Davidson County. His friends and classmates called him June Bug, and he was also known as Mr. Sales, of G and E Sales.
June was preceded in death by both of his parents, brothers Charles and James Everhart, daughter Sandra Kaye, and his wife of 52 years Rachel C Everhart.
Surviving family members daughter Beverly Everhart Todd (Steve), Johnny Everhart III (Angie), of the home, granddaughter Lindsey Brooke Thompson of High Point, grandsons Anthony and Jacob Everhart of the home, and great grandson Colbin James Cassell. Sisters Doris Lohr (Steve), Carol Newsome (Bill), Janie Musgrave, and brother Jerry Everhart (Glenda). And a very special uncle Dermont Fritts (Judy). Brother in law Harold Stanford (Judith), and sister in law Joyce Owen’s. Many loving nieces and nephews.
June had several jobs in Lexington. Most notably Carolina Tire, Shumaker’s, and G and E Sales, which he owned and ran for 25 years across from the American Children’s Home. He loved giving everyone a chance, and was proud that he sold to parents, their children, and grandchildren over the years.
He was recognized by the Civitans, the Jay-Cees, and Lexington Moose Lodge for his efforts and contributions over the years.
He loved golf. Just being outside in God’s beauty. Fishing, grilling, entertaining. If you came hungry, you left with a full tummy. He loved his Gin and tonics. He loved his family to his fullest. He will be missed but never forgotten.
The family will have a memorial and celebration of life for June on Thursday August 13, from 5-7 pm, at the home of Johnny Everhart III. We ask that if you do attend, please use precautions, as we want this to be memorable, honorable, and safe for everyone.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that memorial donations be made to, Davidson County Cancer Services (25 W. 6th Ave., Lexington, NC 27292) and to the Pastor’s Pantry of Lexington (307 N. State St., Lexington, NC 27292). The family would like to thank these organizations for their help and support when they needed them the most.
Absent from the body, present with the Lord.

Beverly,Johnny and families…it’s been a pleasure to call your Dad a friend for the 42 years since I first met him and your Mom. Thank you for giving me the chance to catch up on old times last summer and share a gin and tonic with him. He was a tough guy with a solid gold heart and will be missed. Hugs to all of you.
