Harvey was born on December 26, 1924 in Annapolis, Md.

He was preceded in death by his parents Edward & Caoline Dougherty, sister Lucille Banilus & brother Ed Dougherty.

He is survived by his children, Patricia (Michael) Connor of Concord, NC, Carol Harrelson of Alamo, Ga., Harvey (Susan) Dougherty, Jr. of Laconia, NH & Wayne Dougherty of Selbyville, Del. Brother, James Dougherty of Baltimore, MD, 3 sisters, Shirley Tures & Rita Banes of Annapolis, MD & Betty Hardesty of Edgewater, MD. 5 grand children & 5 great grand children.

Harvey enjoyed crabbing, square dancing, and camping.

A celebration of Harvey’s life will be held at Pitts Baptist Church, 140 Pitts School Road, Concord, NC 28027 on September 17, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. with visitation at 10:00 A.M.
