Harold “Glen” Hamilton, 66, of Denton, passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at his home surrounded by family.

He was born February 15, 1955 in Coeburn, VA to the late Everette Hamilton and Lillie Stanley Hamilton. Glen worked in industrial maintenance for over 30 years and in his spare time he enjoyed building things, horseback riding, fishing, watching western movies, and telling jokes. He was known as the comedian in the family and loved to make people laugh.

In addition to his parents, Glen was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Hamilton Swann; and brothers, Preston Hamilton, James Hamilton, Jackie Hamilton.

Glen is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kathy Hamilton; daughters, Kathy Surratt (Jonathan) of Trinity, NC; Angela Saunders (Kevin) of Denton, NC; granddaughter, Sarah Saunders; grandsons, Ethan and Logan Surratt; sisters, Rosa Sexton, Shelby Boothe, Alice (Art) Philips, and Euna Hamilton; brothers, Everett Hamilton Jr., Ira (Miriam) Hamilton, Milton (Vickie) Hamilton, William (Diane) Hamilton, and Roy Hamilton.

There will be a Celebration of Life held on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at 2pm, location to be determined. Glen’s final resting will be in Coeburn, Virginia at the family cemetery.
