Crystal Smith Simmons, of Rockwell, was born on July 25th 1964 and passed away unexpectedly on October 5th 2021 at Novant Hospital, Salisbury. Her husband of 24 years, Kenneth Eugene Simmons, joined her in heaven eleven days later.
Crystal was a very loving and caring person, a passionate animal lover and described by her children as the definition of unconditional love. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with family and her favorite title was “maw-maw” to Enoch and Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, that raised her as their own, Henry and Lettie Smith and her beloved brother, Allen Smith.
She is survived by daughter, Miranda Javis (Brandon) of Salisbury; son, Austin Simmons of Rockwell; daughter, Carrie Abruzzo (Jim) of China Grove; beloved grandchildren, Heaven, Christian, and Enoch Javis and Jackson Simmons; parents, Irene McCombs of Kannapolis and Jay and Hilda Smith of China Grove; many brothers and sisters; and lots of other family and friends that will forever cherish her memory.
A celebration of life will be held at 2pm on Sunday, November 7th, 2021, at First Baptist Church of Gold Hill 16141 Old Beatty Ford Rd Gold Hill, NC 28071. The family asks that everyone wear a mask to help prevent the spread of Covid-19 and to please reflect on some of your favorite memories of Crystal to share with the family.
